WELCOME TO THE 2009-10 SCHOOL YEAR!

Welcome back! This promises to be an exciting year of learning in the award-winning Highland Local School District as we continue to prepare our students for their futures in the 21st century.

Through an expanded and rigorous core curriculum, valuable enrichment classes for our gifted and talented students, specialized programs for our students with disabilities, and a variety of alternative educational options, we continue to successfully meet the diverse learning needs of our student population.

We are a District dedicated to academic excellence and have been ranked "Excellent with Distinction" from the State of Ohio. I am pleased to report that our students consistently score above the county, state and national averages on academic assessments and measures. Our talented students are served by a dedicated and highly-qualified instructional staff of teachers, support staff, administrators and Board of Education who work tirelessly to fulfill our District's mission of promoting a dynamic and life-long learning environment for all of our students. Their single agenda is the success of all students in the Highland Local School District.

Parents, community members and area businesses are also key members and valued partners in our schools. Their active involvement in our schools and in the lives of our students through their volunteer efforts, fundraising, and support at home, plays a significant role in our students' success. Thanks to everyone's dedication and support, great things continue to happen in the Highland Local Schools.
